When I first started college, I didn't even know what community art was! But as I continued to study and practice it, I realized just how community art makes up much of what we do in and out of the art world. My goal as a community artist is to extend hospitality to others by welcoming them into the art world and showing them their capacity for creativity--"artist" or not.
In December 2022, I received a BA in Community Art from Wheaton College.
My practice takes particular interest in placemaking, storytelling, relationship-building, evangelism, and bringing those who may not call themselves artists into creative spaces to learn more about themselves and others.
Listening, curiosity, compassion, and just plain fun are key.

From practicing bearing witness, to zine creation, storytelling is a massive part of my creative practice, especially my community art work.
I have collaborated on a few murals throughout my college career, and love the way it changes a space as well as a community's new consideration of the space and each other through the painting and design process.

Placemaking - (verb) to make a space into meaningful place, through events, a community taking ownership, and/or creative means.
